Packaging for items on Ebay

Selling a few items on EBay but not got much packaging - not got anything I can recycle so what should I use?

I've got small boxed items (gifts - bodycare, small and larger candles etc) but don't want them to get bashed.

Jiffy bags should do the job. If not then you'll need to use a suitably sized box and pack the item in with bubble wrap or scrunched up newspaper.

The Post Office sells bags and boxes but they are quite expensive if you're buying them singly.

I use decent bin liners and parcel tape. Candles need boxing and bubble wrapping though

As mushroom mama said nowt wrong with using bin liners BUT anything breakable really needs to be boxed, not just bubble wrapped. At this time of year especially there is no care taken with parcels - they get flung around all over the place. Even cutting up old cereal boxes and using them as an extra layer is better than no cardboard at all. (DH hates that I hoard all the amazon packaging but this is when it all gets used)

Another question the candles are already boxed add another layer of card over and then bubble wrap?

Cheapest places to get supplies? Poundland?

Good idea re cereal boxes pottymummy.

Haven't sold for ages, got clothes still with labels (bad me!) but most of the other stuff is new with tags.... And Christmas relevant. [santa]

Bubble wrap then box. Have a look on eBay for boxes usually very cheap! Good if you have a lot to send.

Failing that shoe boxes!

Yes to poundland or b&m/home bargains for supplies

I tend to hoard packaging too Grin

If I need them I'll ask at supermarkets whether they have boxes.

I get other packaging supplies from Amazon. If you buy enough, medium sized jiffy bags should cost less than 10p each.

Make sure boxes stay within the Royal Mail small parcel guidelines if possible. They are quite generous, but going over them, even in one dimension can bump parcel prices up consoderably.
