Auctions ending early

It is so frustrating when you patiently wait a week for an auction to end and then the seller ends it early! There wasn't a BIN price. I would have paid more than the amount she accepted for the item. They were lovely boots Sad The seller even replied to a query I had on the same day she ended the auction early. I know the seller doesn't owe me anything, it's just one of those things.

If your really keen on something, to avoid this happening, you can put in your first bid at the start price in the early days of the auction, just to prevent them from taking the item off ebay and selling it privately. Then on the last day, or the last few minutes, you can put in your 'real' bid.

a seller can still end an item with bids on it, they just cancel the bids first. The only restriction is if there are 12 hours or less to auction end, then they can't finish it themselves.

Yes - I agree, you're right Lavender, but I still think they're less likely to end it if there is a bid on it. Speaking personally, if someone contacted me before the end of the auction offering a private deal I'd be tempted if there were no bids but would say no if I had a bid or bids.

TBH I've ended items early where no bids because I've noted that I'm getting shed loads of questions where I've clearly stated what the item is to the n'th degree and potential buyers are already asking for the impossible. I end items where I feel there's going to be a)some kind of fraud or people getting me to send items abroad for no postage.

why don't you add them to your blocked bidder list and tighten up your settings to stop bidders from abroad instead?

I usually have things for sale on elsewhere to eg Gumtree so if I sell them then I end early.

Sellers will soon be charged for ending auctions early if there are bids:
