eBay

How quickly would you expect someone to pay (or at least communicate?!)

Sold some items on Saturday/Sunday. All paid for and posted expect one. Since Sunday I've heard nothing whatsoever from the buyer. It's Thursday now. Usually I'd just carry on waiting, but I'm going on hols on Sunday and won't be able to post after that. I've contacted the buyer to tell her this and explain that if she doesn't pay by tomorrow I can't post for at least ten days, but have had zero response. It's not a big vaue item, but once she's paid I know there's an expectation on me to send within two days and I won't be able to.
WWYD?
Thanks all.

start the unpaid item process now - if they don't pay you can close it and relist.

Most buyers payer within a week of buying I find.

Thanks Fergoose - can you start an unpaid item process so quickly?

Yes open on day 4, and close on day 7. Next to the sold item in eBay click the arrow more actions and select resolve a problem and take it from there.

Argh! Have tried. It won't let me do this until 5.25 p.m! Can I just ask something, Fergoose? Can you choose when to close the dispute? What I don't want is for her to pay me next Tuesday when I won't be able to send until the following Monday...

you can close the dispute any time after 5.25pm on day 7. I think you have 30 days to close it. Trouble is if your buyer does pay when you are away they may not be happy waiting a week for item to be posted.

Yes, that's what I'm worried about, but the only thing preventing me sending it to her now is that she hasn't paid me!

Hopefully if I open it at 5.30 today I can close it at 5.30 on Sunday (day 7). Even if she pays on Sunday I'd be able to give it to my DD to post for me, but if she pays on Monday I'll be stuffed!

whatever you do don't send it before she has paid! :)

It's very annoying because it's only about a tenner. All this faffing around...
