Hi all,

I'm pregnant with my first child (5 weeks according to clinic). Husband and I used donor sperm for this and likely to be our only baby. I also have anxiety and every little thing worries me. I have had these cramps (not every day) on my right side where tubes/womb is. Clinic say it's normal, I think Dr Google has played a part in worrying me about ectopic pregnancy as I know cramps are a potential symptom. I have no bleeding and not much nausea, more backache and tiredness than anything. Has anyone else had these symptoms? And any advice on how to stop worrying because I'm driving myself round the twist!

Thanks in advance.
C

Hi there, I didn't want to leave this unanswered, you might have better luck with responses in the pregnancy section as this is more of a pregnancy question than a donor question. Best of luck to you

I had cramps for the first six weeks of pregnancy, it felt a bit like period pain but everything was fine. Apparently it's just a combination of implantation pain and things starting to stretch around the growing embryo. Congratulations! Flowers

Hi
Congrats on your pregnancy.
I have just done my first IUI two days ago, ttc baby no2.
I remember I had cramps on and off for the first 8 weeks and used to consult dr google over every little thing.
It’s not good but yet I still do it even now, old habits die hard!! I’m a worrier too and even though I know dr google isn’t my friend I can’t help myself!
Try not to worry, I have a friend who had an ectopic and you would most likely know about it fairly quickly as usually the symptoms are a lot worse than mild cramps.
One thing I remember helped when I was worrying.. I brought a Doppler so that I could hear the heartbeat when I wanted.
Although sometimes I couldn’t hear it and that used to worry me silly..I found it was comforting.
You will find once you have a scan you will chill out too..nothing like hard evidence that everything’s fine.
