Court set maintenance coming to an end

Hi, I currently receive spousal maintenance and child maintenance lumped as one sum. The spousal maintenance ends this year.

I have no communication with my ex who is self employed. He earns circa £150k a year but works the system so he only takes a smaller wage abs the rest is in dividends.

How do I calculate what my daughter will be due once my maintenance stops given that we have no contact and he is very hostile. As the CSA as was is no longer operating (I think?) will I have to go through solicitors and how will it be calculated if he is very clever with his earnings? I want to avoid solicitors as he didn’t play fair last time and my legal bill was huge.

Thanks for your help in advance.

CSA is now called the Child Maintenance Service. You don't need to go through solicitors. Here is an online calculator //www.gov.uk/calculate-child-maintenance

Have you checked your divorce paperwork? Even if it was a global award - spousal and maintenance - it might specify each amount that makes it up. DH paid spousal and child maintenance and a sum was attached to both elements and he then paid her one amount including both. When the spousal term was up it went down to the child support bit which is reviewed every year.

As your ex is self employed I expect CMS will go on whatever he claims as his wage. It’s always hard to get them to enforce payment from the self employed. Sorry he’s a dick.

I'm afraid I am in a similar situation. My ex receives a basic wage plus dividends on top and so the CMS only calculate payments from his basic wage and not the rest. I've tried telling them but they say they 'cannot' see evidence of him receiving anymore as they are not able to access his bank statements (only going on the tax he pays from his basic wage).
Therefore he takes over £4000 home a month in total but is only made to pay me £240 a month for our 2 children...its just not fair, I feel your pain xx
