Divorce/separation

Typical wait between FA, FDR and final hearing

I'm in the process of getting divorced.

We should have a custody consent order agreed in the next few days. Once this is agreed, I'm going to send off my Form A as unfortunately, we're in complete disagreement in how the finances should be settled.

I appreciate this varies between different courts but does anyone know how long it might take between FA, FDR and final hearing?

I understand it's around 12-16 weeks to get to FA and then at least 3 months to get to the FDR. Is this accurate? I'm hoping things can be resolved at the FDR stage.

My FA was in October last year and in that hearing we applied there and then for the FDR and the Final Hearing dates.
FDR was 3 Feb (but would have been later had we not applied at FA).
Final Hearing is a 3 day hearing and not expected to be diarised for maybe 6 months or more as its hard to find 3 consecutive days in the court diaries!
Most divorces do manage to settle a FDR unless you are married to a Greedy or Narcissistic person (like I am!). The judge will give an indication at FDR as to how things should be settled between you both - it is then up to you both if you listen and act on it! Or spend thousands of pounds fighting....
If no children involved then likely it is a simple - divide all assets 50:50 clean break.
But my E still refuses to listen to that advice so I face a bill of £30k+ for the Final Hearing alone.... and no idea how Im going to fund it!!!! But I have no choice...

My Ex filed the Form A in or around June of 2019, and FA hearing was mid October
if that helps.
But it will depend on which courts you are at and their waiting lists!!!

@nosha123 - thanks.

In my case, I'm married to a narcissistic wife so I'm expecting this to be long, drawn out and painful.

She has been told time and time again that her expectations are completely unrealistic but she refuses to listen advice from anybody.

I'm hoping to do a combined FA and FDR. My solicitor has advised me that there aren't sufficient assets to make it financially worthwhile to drag this out to a final hearing. So, I'm hoping this can be dealt with as soon as possible.

My Barrister tried the same when we were at the First Hearing, however the Ex didn't turn up so Judge didn't agree to it. The judges don't often agree to combining FDR and FA apparently...
We don't have sufficient assets to argue over either.. but that hasn't stopped my ex wanting EVERYTHING to himself. We agreed the valuation of our small apartment abroad, but 6 months later he is now wanting another valuation. Plus he has been getting rid of high value items to reduce the amount of money on his side fo the pot. All so unfair.. and seemingly nothing I can do about it.
I wish you luck... its a really bumpy unpleasant ride.. BUT... if you take anything from all I have said.. remember this... IT ISNT FOREVER. THERE IS AN END TO IT.. SO STAY STRONG AND KEEP GOING. YOU WILL GET THERE!
