money if you have any
phone numbers of refuges, womens aid

Bank statements, building society book, any other financial paperwork. If you are married, copies of all your H's financial paperwork.

Any other paperwork, like things showing where and when you have worked.

Things of sentimental value, like letters and photographs. Address book. Laptop.

Enough clothes.

Any possessions of yours of value, which you could sell if needed.

I would take anything/destroy anything which could be used to run up debts in your name.

Photos! Please don't forget these, you can always order another bc, but photos are gone forever.

Remove name from household bills cos then they know you are no longer liable. Be warned though some companies make it way harder than others

Medication and prescription request forms if you have them
Copies of bills (so you have the account numbers etc and can take your name off them later)
Your child’s comforter(s)
Photos/usb drive with photos on
Benefits letters if you have them (make sure you change your claim ASAP)
Useful phone numbers for solicitors/refuge/etc and if saved in your phone saved under other names rather than the company/organisation

Change your passwords on everything- email, amazon account, eBay, bank etc so he can’t get your new address or order things on your cards or transfer money out.

Photograph all paperwork if you can’t take it with you. Store the photos on the cloud or email to a trusted friend, DONT store on your device.

As others have said passports, id papers, banking stuff etc. BUT if you are in danger YOURSELF. Just get yourself out and to safety.

From Women’s Aid:

Some form of identification
Birth certificates for you and your children.
Passports (including passports for all your children), visas and work permits.
Money, bankbooks, cheque book and credit and debit cards.
Keys for house, car, and place of work. (You could get an extra set of keys cut, and put them in your emergency bag.)
Cards for payment of Child Benefit and any other welfare benefits you are entitled to.
Driving licence (if you have one) and car registration documents, if applicable.
Prescribed medication.
Copies of documents relating to your housing tenure (for example, mortgage details or lease and rental agreements).
Insurance documents, including national insurance number.
Address book.
Family photographs, your diary, jewellery, small items of sentimental value.
Clothing and toiletries for you and your children.
Your children’s favourite small toys.
You should also take any documentation relating to the abuse – e.g. police reports, court orders such as injunctions and restraining orders, and copies of medical records if you have them.
