(3 Posts)My husband left on the day we told our two dcs-aged 10 and 7at the time. It was a shock to them but I thought it would just be too confusing for them if we said Daddy was moving out and then he hung around. We stayed in our family home but my H moved 2 hours away and our dcs only see him every other weekend with no contact in between. On the whole the children have coped really well but my eldest is worried about moving house, which we will have to do at some point. I can't afford to keep our house long term unfortunately. Good luck
I'm not sure what the best way is. We told Lee dc that daddy would move out in a month - that was yesterday. Has back tracked since the conversation and refuses to leave. However my 2 v young dcs don't understand why he is still here😤😤.
What we you do your feel guilty. Xx
Teetering on separation. H will be moving out and I will stay with DC in the house.
DC are not expecting this and I’m expecting the fallout to be huge..
My question is: is it better to tell them before plans have been made re when and where H will be going? Or do we wait until all these details are sorted so we can say Dad is moving out on...and to...
Is it better to try and move forward ASAP after telling them? Or is a bit of time between telling DC and H moving out better for them?
