Ex-P italian financial settlement queries

Hi lovely ladies, I wanted some advice on how to approach the matter of financial settlement with my ExP. We were together for 14 years and separated for 2 yrs and have a DC who is now 14. I'm now living with my DC in UK. I wanted to get some advice on how I go about getting child maintenance as well as maintenance for myself. I've been advised to go thru REMO who will mediate this matter, but I'm not sure what to expect. Can anyone who has been thru the same please advice? Will they apply an income formula, needs based formula or is there another approach? My ex would not willingly pay any of this, so I need to approach it in the best way possible.

There is also the question of financial settlement as my ex was abusive and took all my money from when I sold my flat when we were together and I was pregnant with our DC, he purchased a property with the money in his own name, but I of course didn't get to see any of the paperwork surrounding it and can't prove anything except that I paid most of my wealth to him. This is almost 15 years ago now and it has resulted in me being homeless and penniless when I eventually left him. Is there anyway of getting some of my money back so I and my DC can rebuild a life here? I am eligible for legal aid but have no idea where to start. Thanks for reading, hope you can help me.

Hi - were you married? If so, then I believe you would be entitled to half of the property even if he bought it in his name.

No were not married but we had a registered co-habiting certificate that we had to complete in Italy.
