Hi
Anyone using bse divorce courts? It's currently taken 8 months and haven't even got the nisi yet for a straight forward uncontested no asset split.
Ex made a mistake on form e, minor one. Returned it 4 weeks ago and have heard nothing.
They are at present absolutely useless.
I've emailed today but they say they haven't received it.

I have used it and everything went through fine. Decree Nisi being heard or whatever happens with it on August 14th. Maybe get on at your solicitor to chase it up?

Interesting,. I've just sent papers there (trying to DIY) and I wondered if they were considered to be fast or slow (I've been told all the courts are different and some are considered to be nightmares to deal with). Good luck with it-- does chasing help? Or will they just ignore?

Hi- thanks all.
I'm diy divorce as respondent.
It seems that if they have to return something to you(even small error) it holds it up massively.
You can get through on phone or email but they just state the volumes are so large their experiencing severe delays.

I thought brilliant.

I sent them a document. Not by recorded delivery so my daily. They paid me £12 reimbursement to get a new document (marriage very).

Efficient and swift

I've spoken to a solicitor who says they are very slow. It's been 2 weeks now and I haven't heard that they received anything-- thinking perhaps to pull it and send to Southampton? (I haven't paid the £550 yet!!)

@GoHackYourself-- any luck so far? I can't believe it's taken so long, just rereading your OP! Seems really bad service...

Mine ended up there, apparently central London one is no longer functioning or something so that one is taking loads more on. Mine took longer than expected due to A judge query, but was probably 5 months from submission through Nisi to absolute.

I'm using BsE too and it's taking ages although that's probably more to do with my STBXH not signing the papers. They are usually pretty good if you ring them for updates

Thanks all - strange that it could vary!

Does the form E get handed in alongside the nisi application?

Fucking awful. Disorganised, slow and fond of returning documents in error or querying things which didn't need querying.

Our straightforward divorce has taken over a year, simply because they're utter shit.

By excellent solicitors have said it's basically making their lives hell.

Just by way of update (and sorry, this won't help anyone!) we both received papers yesterday from Southampton, after posting them on 30th August. So fairly quick. I'd originally posted them to bse but application was returned because I hadn't ticked the box on page 1 re marriage or civil partnership..3.5 weeks after sending. If you're in London or area the postcode will send you to bse but the solicitor who's doing our financial agreement said Southampton were faster... She advised (as we're trying to to this cheaply) to do the divorce ourselves and she'd write up the financial split. I'm feeling strangely elated to have got this far, but still a way to go. Good luck to all Smile

I'll email them today actually and see where it's at.

Funnily enough, i sent mine to BSE a month ago. Rang them up this morning to say I'd not heard anything, to be told they had no record of ever receiving my application and they keep a record of all applications received including those that are returned due to errors. It turned up in my post this afternoon, returned because I'd forgotten to include mine and my stbxh middle names on the form (form asks for first names but not middle names!). So they clearly had received it!

DP sent the forms off last October, his ex signed and sent back her bit when she received it in February (!) we have heard nothing since. I suspect having a solicitor might help.

Does anyone know how to find the name of the judge?
