I am in the process of getting divorced and all my close friends and family know. However my self and soon to be ex work in the same organisation. Everyone will know n the next few weeks and I am bracing myself for all the commiserations. But what do I say back? I don't want to have t look all sad if I don't feel it, yet I need something practical and breezy. Any advice?

Just say 'don't be sad, I'm not'.

"It is sad, but it was the right thing for both of us"

'It was a long time coming'.

"Things just didn't work out" then change subject. Might be worth reading the headlines or something for a while to get some other things to talk about.
