Recommend an exercise bike?

This might not be the best place to post but if anyone thinks where else would be suitable could you let me know please. My partner wants an exercise bike for a present and I don't have the first idea on what I'm looking for. Was looking for any recommendations please? Or failing that then a bike for outdoors for a beginner. T.I.A

If money was no object I’d go for a wattbike atom. Until I win the lottery if I need to ride indoors I have a set of rollers (cycleops aluminium with resistance adjustment) which I just use my normal road bike on. I’m quite tempted to save up and get a smart turbo trainer though so I can get Zwifting.

If he’s a cyclist you’d probably be best off looking at a set of rollers or turbo which he can use his normal bike on... much better value for money and less issues with storage.

Sorry didn’t read your post properly.

You may be best off posting in the ‘exercise’ section of ‘health’ for indoor exercise bike recommendations. I’m guessing most folk that check the cycling pages already have a bike, so would therefore look at rollers/ turbo (or watt bikes if they’re loaded) for indoor riding purposes.

In terms of a bike recommendation it really depends on your budget and what type of riding he plans on doing eg there’s no point buying a mountain bike if he’ll be road riding or a road bike if he’ll be mountain biking. Cyclo Cross or gravel bikes are good for mixing roads and trails... but not ideal if he’s unsure of drop bars... in which case a hybrid would be good (they have flat bars and tend to accommodate a wider tyre than a road bike). Whatever you go for pick the lightest you can afford as he’ll find it easier.
