Start using Mumsnet PremiumStrewth! G'day. Anyone up for a tinnie and a rummage down under?
(12 Posts)Just sayin', mate.
Caim on cobbas!
Greipel takes the ochre jersey! Oh how Aussie! Desperately camp but zero self awareness.
Was that Jensie presenting Greipel with his jersey?
Sagan still annonymous after two stages - has he run out of biscuits so early in the season??
G'day Pannnn - I am woeful cycling fan, I haven't been watching the Down Under Tour.
I did get out for my first club ride of the season last Sat though!
Does still work?
Oooh! It does!
It's cobber, as in mate
No idea what else you are talking about though!
You're alive!!! Morning ShutUp
Thank you Green for the correction - I've never had to transcribe Aussie street before.
Seeing highlights and wonderfully uplifting to see riders in clearest blue skies and 30 degrees. Here it's just miserable so Spesh has been in the shed all week.
Green - it's the Tour Down Under, professional bike race a la Tour de France? Except in Aussie and it's only a week and it's essentially around Adelaide and it's environs. No tv broadcast but highlights on various bike-related outlets via twitter.
TMI?
My Giant has been in my study since Sept. I have an ancient Spesh Allez that serves as the winter bike <ponce> but the gearing is shit and I hate it. The idea is that, if I can battle round some stuff on it now, the Giant will be luvverly come April.
Are we going to round up the peloton for the Classics or wait for Tour season to commence?
The winter/summer bike sounds like a plan! I have a retro 1980s bike also in the shed that I found in the city centre. It needs some work....
Shall we disturb the hibernators in time for the classics? They will be grumpy if we dont.
I fear I am turning into a bit of a snowflake in not riding to work in the cold/snow. It's just horrible out of bed. And then the stage 3 is shortened TDU due to the heat. Bastards.
Excellent show from Viviani! Obv his years with Sky were wasted. Really not sure why he signed, otehr than the size of the cheque....
and eye-watering chapeau to the rider who had his shoulder 'popped' and then just 'popped' back in. Always a lovely contrast to premiership footballers who roll around on the deck as if they've been taken out by a sniper when someone has given them a slight nudge...
