My top half is sorted - bottoms I usually wear padded shorts and some winter tights, I think they are winter Altura Cruisers from memory, or even padded shorts and my Musto snug jodhpurs if it is freezing.

However, I have decided that my new bike deserves trying to find a new warm one layered approach grin, did order these

But I don't like them and when they got here they weren't what I thought I had ordered (thought they were winter labelled/warmer)

Wondered if anyone had anything they really like for their bottom half in the winter.

I have these- they are lovely and fleecy inside and really warm.

Thank you, I did look at those and put them in my basket before I asked the question here but I have never had bib tights. Most of our rides involve a coffee shop after 15 miles. I always need a wee, is that a faff?

I also put the Gore ones with the neon bottom bit in there, but they are twice the price.

I don't understand what a medium to long session is in the blurb, usual ride 30 miles, max 50 although I do seem to have agreed to 70 next week. It will involve coffee at 20 miles, lunch at 35 and coffee at 55 though (like to have a plan), so never one long slog.

Thinking about it I suppose that doesn't matter really though does it, it must mean that the padding is ok for suggested rides of more than I ride.

For winter tights where I'm stopping at a proper loo, then I wear my long sleeved base layer underneath the tights, then a full zip jersey over, and you just need to take one arm out of the jersey, so its fine. You wouldn't want to do it so much in a portaloo, though I have.

But they are much comfier than tights, and keep draughts off your back beautifully

CMOT - what is dhb sizing like? I go up one for Gore and down one for Altura - never bought dhb before.

CMOTDibbler Sat 10-Oct-15 18:36:54

I buy my normal size in DHB. Apart from their Wiggle Team Honda replica kit which is teeny

Thank you, I have ordered them.

I just arrived home to find the wiggle order I placed on Sat eve here (I never pay for postage because they are usually quick but not this quick.

They fit grin, could be a bit longer in the top half (am 5'8") but that is a lifelong issue so I can't complain.

Thanks CMOT, will see how warm I find them. I noticed afterwards that the other ones I bought were 'winter' according to the actual tab but I like these better and they are a bargain.

Will try them out tomorrow, although I am still wearing them.

I wore them today, in fact I put them on when I got dressed this morning, delayed my ride due to hideous rain - they are fab, 8 degrees, wet and windy and I was too hot with my jacket on .... about to order some more if there are any left.

CMOTDibbler Tue 13-Oct-15 16:25:51

Oh, I'm glad you like them smile

I wore these today and was absolutely boiling - have decided that I really like the style though so bought the non thermal version when I got home, reduced to £30 - bargainous.
