English conversation for older women

I'm starting to teach an english conversation class on friday and have prepped a lesson about valentine's day. I know it is a group of 5 women but dont know anything else about them. I don't know if I can get more information before Friday.... but I am suspicious that it will be a group of older women.
Will valentine's day be an ok topic?

Have you never met them before?
Just stick to general conversation for a first lesson: family, hobbies, jobs etc.
Until you know their level you can't really prepare much.
I'm doing VD this week in my conversation classes but only with my 14 year olds. It might not be culturally acceptable for some groups.

No never met them. I'm hoping to get hold of their previous teacher tomorrow but not sure I'll reach her.
They know each other so I can spend time introducing myself. Ask a bit about them. Its 90 minutes... need to fill the time.
Your topic sounds very interesting....
