obtaining a qualification in heritage and conservation

have decided enough is enough of teaching music and want to work in conservation ideally with a national trust type organisation. any one work in this area or know of courses etc as am really keen to start learning. am so excited!

I know lots about heritage courses but only a little bit about conservation. There is a good course in archaeological conservation in Lincoln at (I think) Masters level - can't remember name of college though. Friend of mine did a BSc at Cardiff, which I think is also one of the best places. She now teaches at UCL (Bartlett School of Architecture) - maybe check out there to see if the course is what you want.
If it's architectural conservation you want, there is a good course in Edinburgh which my SIL did but it doesn't have a great employement rate, I think.

thanks for info. there arnt a great many jobs in this field i know but its an interesting field to get in to.

i know a few folk who did the edinburgh course and they were not v. impressed.

you should contact the conservaton dept in your local council and ask some advice.
