Would love to hear feedback from those who have seen the show.
Was it as wonderful as you'd hoped?
What did you enjoy about it?
Anything you didn't particularly like?

It's really good much better than the it came across in the book just be careful where your seats are if you can get them 😂 It's a big theatre!!

Which seats are most desirable?
Which should be avoided?

It's a fabulous show that works perfectly for theatre. It follows the 'Harry Potter' story structure so there are a couple of clunky bits. Jamie Parker was extraordinary as Harry Potter.

Most desirable seats? Anything you can get I think, with the way it's selling. Not sure if you get the chance to be picky. DS1 and his girlfriend sat in stalls row R, DS2 and I sat in BB so right at the front. We were all very happy with our views.

I would aim for near the front of the dress circle but really you have to take what you can get.

It's an extraordinary piece of theatre. The plot is questionable (I speak as a huge Harry Potter fan and a drama teacher) but the theatre experience is well worth it.

It's amazing! I was worried it wouldn't be as good as I'd built it up to be but it really was. The cast were fantastic although they've changed now I understand.

Really, really worth going for any potter fan.

I am terribly excited about going in Jan, but I am worried about the seats! All I could get (after 6 hours of queuing online) are right up high and I hear bad things on Tripadvisor about the view! Ah well, here is hoping!

We went a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing. Bought our tickets October '15 and paid £15 each ticket because we were up on the balcony with "restricted view" but didn't cause us any problems. I'd read the script when it first came out but hadn't read it since and DH had never read it so had no idea what was going to happen. The special effects were spectacular and the actor who plays Scorpio was amazing. I can see why it won all the Oliviers!

Oh Clara, that is good - I think we are up on the balcony like that so that is promising!

Reviving this thread because I have a new question for those who have seen the play:
It is better to see Parts 1 & 2 on the same day, or do you think seeing them on different (consecutive) days gives more of a chance to digest and appreciate what you've seen?

I saw them on consecutive nights, part 1 ends on a cliffhanger and I liked to be able mull it over and discuss it. Also gave me the chance to refer back to the books for a couple of plot points.

DS saw both parts in the same day and loved it as a continual piece of storytelling.

No right or wrong, just do what best suits you.

Malmsey - thanks for your response. We have been fortunate enough to get tickets on consecutive nights - so are thrilled. By the way - looking back at the thread, I see you sat very near the front. What was it like being so close to the stage?

It has been a few years since we've read the books. Do we need to re-read them all before we see the plays? What is the best way to refresh our memories so that we catch the nuances?

It was wonderful - I have a photo I took of the pre set from my seat but I can't post it because I don't want to spoil any surprises!

Maybe re-read Goblet of Fire for a few references. Other than that it's a stand alone story.

Ive seen it twice an had very back of the upper circle on consecutive night and restricted view in the stalls f2 on the same day.
Prefer same day and prefer restricted review in stalls. We couldnt see the fireplace.
Dd must have seen it 6 or 7 times usually restricted view and they are far better value.
