I was just reading about the inspiration for Orphan and the poor kids only came to light when a family next door installed a baby monitor and picked up images. The sisters had the same monitor to watch the children as they were locked up.

I just feel quite cold thinking about how many other people are locked up right now, people we think are missing or never knew existed. It's quite chilling.

What is this? It sounds interesting (but heartbreaking).

Without accidentally identifying anyone, I once heard about a man who was run over and killed in a busy town. The police could not identify him beyond the name he used as he was paid in cash, didn’t know his flatmates and didn’t socialise, had no identifying papers etc in his flat and no contacts other than work in his phone. Fingerprints no trace yet he was not homeless or jobless and was an older man, I think he was from some European country.
That’s quite unusual in this day and age.

Mail link because 1. I don't care and 2. Its the least sensational of all the reports while containing detail post funding her

Was in 2008

But you think about the girls kept in cellars and the family in America where the children escaped eventually. How many other humans are trapped and believed to be missing?

It terrifies me to think that there's a very high chance that someone (many people?) right now who are being imprisoned against their will in an underground cellar-type room.

That's what I mean - we can't have seen them all released. So for very Jaycee Dugard logically there must be several others
