Try Woo Design. I bought a few pieces from them just before the pandemic. Some nice stuff and very helpful to deal with.

Watching with interest.
I love white / cream painted French style furniture butI have no idea where one can buy it in Ireland. The UK seems to have loads of such websites but delivery to Ireland is so problematic now with Brexit and extra charges. Sad

Harvey Norman is also worth a look. I don’t think it should be impacted by Brexit.

I've bought a few things from Harvey Norman but didn't have the items I was looking for unfortunately.
I managed to find at last a white console table this morning and have just ordered it, more than I wanted to pay but very happy with it overall!
Looking for a few other items so any sites you all use would be appreciated, thanks for replies! and @Blogdog thanks for that site recommendation I'll have a look Smile

Just googling and found this site - custommade.ie

Meadows & Byrne do some furniture.

EZ living might be another shop to try.

There was a Dunelm in Belfast. I'm not sure if it is still there.
I wish we had John Lewis, Waitrose and Lakeland household stuff.

@LadyEloise John Lewis omg I love that shop bought so much stuff in there in the past, I know I would find what I want instantly in Dunelm or John Lewis!!
Still looking around I never knew it could be so hard 😊

There's always Arnotts.

What exactly are you looking for?

Report
LadyEloise · 12/02/2021 13:46

We really have little choice now.
Arnotts is BT's
Clerys gone
Debenhams gone
House of Fraser gone
Is Laura Ashley gone too ?

Before the economic downturn pre 2009, Dunnes did great bits of furniture very reasonably priced. I have a few pieces. Cream painted.
But the economy took a nose dive and they stopped doing it.
Woodies needs a kick up the proverbial- they have the stores - get good stock.
Their garden furniture offering is pretty pathetic for a nationwide ability to buy in bulk store group.

Places like The Orchard in Celbridge Rathwood or The Arboretum might have lovely pieces.

What about The Range or Homebase ?

@TheLongRider Hi I'm updating over the last year and having just got a new tv I'm now looking for a corner tv stand/unit in glossy black.. actually have ordered from littlewoods and sound store after finding what I wanted and then had money refunded after them not being able to get said item!! So annoying after letting me order and pay saying it was in stock!! I don't want any wood on tv stand so making it harder!!
Also looking for white furniture, a tall boy/chest drawers and living room furniture, just ordered a white console table after searching for ages so delighted with that,
A footstool is another thing I'm trying to find in grey in a nice fabric, all this home time is it good for my purse haha!!

I think Littlewoods is always more expensive than other stores stocking the very same thing.

@LadyEloise Thanks I love the range always find great decorative pieces odds and ends but wasn't too interested in their furniture section, not a lot on offer and what was seemed to be badly made.
Love Homebase too but have looked in there and not found anything.
We really do need more on offer here like you said so many stores gone no choice I'm all for buying Irish and local but they make it damn hard don't they!
Anyway small problem to have with everything else going on.

I try and buy from Irish companies too, so will always go to Power City and DID before going to Harvey Norman, Currys, Argos etc for electricals.
Though Power City and its hierarchy annoy me. The guy on the floor has so little leeway. Always has to check further up the line.

If you do a Google search for furniture retailers Ireland you get quite a few legitimate results, such as Flanagan's, Jysk etc. Most of them have Irish addresses.

Sometimes I've used reverse image search to find a particular item I have in mind.
