What are the consideration when buying used bedside crib (Chicco)

hi

I did looked at many bedside cribs and have decided I like the Chicco's the best.
I am seeing some good prices at used ones. The full price of this crib is outrageous, comparing to how mych regular cot costs.

Is it a good idea to buy secondhand? What do I need to look at.
The crib comes with matress, would I need to replace it with new one? I dont think it will be easy to find a replacement matress which fits. The walls I think are not washable.

You need to check any of the fabric thoroughly for any signs of mould. You need to replace the mattress. Most cribs are in one of about 3 standard sizes for mattresses, debenhams and house of Fraser have good price cuts at the moment on some crib mattresses. Also if it's a swinging crib, make sure the locking mechanism etc still works safely, and that all fastenings are tight. Think that's it!
