Vvvv faint line but only on one test

My DP has spent the night throwing up. He was fine last night but now also has a very slight temp (about 38.2). I made him do a lateral flow just in case although I'm not aware is a symptom.

First lateral flow and I thought I could see a line but it was very faint and has now gone. He did two others and I couldn't see anything at all on them. We've got a PCR booked in for later today.

What do you think the chances of having one positive (ish) looking test and then the others all being negative? Is a false positive more likely then two false negatives?

Also, has anyone had vomiting as a symptom?

This is it with what looks like a positive and then the darker one is it at the 30 min mark.

Vomiting can be a symptom so you've done the right thing booking a PCR.
Just a thought, had it been over half an hour (and several good nose blows) from last throwing up for your DH? My daughter did a positive LFT a couple of hours after being sick but was followed up by 2 negative PCRs. I did wonder whether the acid in vomit could make the LFT positive, if there's a risk the acid from food or drink could?

No we didn't leave it half an hour. So maybe it is that. He has only drunk some dioralyte although he hasn't had much. Maybe it is acid / bile etc from throwing up. Fingers crossed it is that (and ideally not norovirus either)!

We never had any of the normal symptoms when my family tested positive on lateral flow. Three of us had definite red lines and my youngest DD had the faintest line as in your first pic. We all had a positive PCR. You’ve done the right thing booking PCR and then at least you will know for sure. I think there are so many different symptoms now.
