lostallhope77 I sympathise. But I don't think being really unpleasant to someone who's posted an interesting article - which advocates neither for more against a lockdown - is going to help you. That's really interesting. And looking back to a source is how outbreak control teams work, if I remember right.

So is it the case that with C-19 the contact tracing (such as it is) works forwards from each infected individual rather than backwards to where they had been previously? And Japan have done it looking backwards and had far greater success?

That’s excellent Giletrouge.
One area where I think the government’s response has been really crap is in not getting the word out about ventilation. My db is in Japan and he has said both ventilation and backwards contact tracing were key to the response since the spring.

But the science, clearly communicated so that people get it better, can only help. I think we have a huge problem with lack of compliance through ignorance and denial and things like this are potentially really helpful.

They are, but also they should be informing each other - which is what hasn't been happening in England, with BoJo being such a ditherer. Led too much by the politics and not enough by the science!
