Car Share to School

My friend has asked the question and I am not sure of the official answer, although I would say no.
Thought you lovely lot might know the official answer.

3 year 8 girls car share to and from school. Each parent takes it in turn each day. Thoughts on this continuing during lockdown 🤷🏻‍♀️? one parent suggested they continue but the driving parent wears a mask. This would mean 3 households in the car together but then the girls spend all day together at school anyway. Logic vs rules!!

Face coverings should be worn by everyone in the car if this HAS to take place. Does it HAVE to take place? Is it an essential arrangement that is allowing all the parents to attend work, for example?

We stopped our car share. It’s not the kids so much, but exposing the parents (and their contacts) to the additional kids (and contacts of their families)

It’s like a spider web and one positive case easily spreads out from there, especially in confined spaces.

It’s a pita but it’s safer to avoid doing it.

Your logic is flawed. A car is a much more enclosed space than school. Is it essential for education that these girls are together in school. Household mixing for inessential purposes should not happen.

All wearing face masks and windows down.

I would actually rota it for a week at a time otherwise all 3 parents will be exposed if one child is ill.

Is it too far for them to walk?? Is there no other alternative?

Really each of you should only drive your own child there...
