Trying to get a test

I’ve got a tickly cough and sore throat, also very bunged up.
The cough is obviously the thing I’m getting tested for.
I’ve looked up how to get a test in our local area, it says the nearest place is 6.5 miles away! And we don’t currently have a car. So I don’t know what we are meant to do.
Can you get a home test delivered? Obviously we can’t get public transport. On the website it says to walk or cycle! I feel unwell anyway, and I don’t own a bike. Can anyone help? I’m really confused.

@JaffaCake31 yes, you can get a home test sent to you.
You do the test at home yourself and either book a courier to collect or post back via post box.

Yes, they will ask whether you have access to a car/small van as you are booking a test. As an option it will show you walk in, drive through and home test. You just need to select the home test.

@Swimmingwiththebees I tried that and it still said I had to go to the walk in

@JaffaCake31 suggest you try again a bit later. I heard (but don't know if it's correct) they have limits on the numbers they send and release them in batches.

You need to select a home test from the website.
Should give you the option,

I'm trying to get a test today for toddler with temperature so I can go to work (primary school teacher!). Been told there are no home tests kits available and my nearest drive through is a 100 mile round trip (and there are loads in my area!).

How are people meant to hold down a job? My partner is self employed, he can't sit home for 2 weeks everytime toddler gets a cold!
