7 friends in desperate need of a drink out together.
Are we going to get kicked out if we try to sit at the same table in a pub?

Are you sitting inside or out? Inside most likely, you’re only allowed two households so would be way over the limit. Outside it’s very close to the six you’re allowed so depends how strict the pub is, you’ll probably get away with it.

It seems to be a real mix here, some allow up to 6 indoors and out ( from 6 homes), some outdoors only

A friend on Wednesday went to a local pub, I didn’t agree so didn’t go, but there were 9 of them. They queued to get in had a table of 4 and table of 5. Told staff they knew each other and staff member sat them at adjacent tables. A Perspex screen separated them. Ordered drinks on an app and when they were delivered another staff member said as you all know each other may as well take this down. The Perspex screen was then removed and they joined tables! They had dinner, dessert, more drinks, snacks and more drinks there at least 3.5 hours.

We went to pub for dinner and drinks as group of 6 friends, all different households. We had checked before booking. It did wonders for our mental health!

I didn’t even realise this wasn’t allowed 😬

It would be against guidelines, but you’ll probably find a pub that’d be ok with it, especially outside. Personally I’d be nervous of what other guidelines they’re ignoring, but suspect I’m in the minority there.

Many places have a table limit of six but depends on the place.

Little country pubs, OP. The sort of place where "Dogs Welcome". Very relaxed ime.

You could just do as my dm does and work out some convoluted algorithim for how different people actually count as the same household and carry on with the get-together as planned under the illusion she is obeying the guidelines.
