Has anyone had a hospital scan appointment recently?

I’m due to have a six month ultra scan follow up on a slight kidney problem that was picked up last year.
I’m also an anxiety sufferer and have been suffering quite badly since the outbreak. I am furloughed so have been avoiding going anywhere really but I don’t really want to leave the appointment which I Should have had through in April.
I have just been given an appointment for next week which I’m now anxious about.
I am having the scan at a local hospital. My FIL had an US yesterday at an independent centre (through the NHS) and each person was called in from their car and went in individually so no other direct contact with anyone other than the clinician.
I asked about my appointment and was told I would need to come alone, when I asked I was told that there will be other people waiting in the waiting area with me which leaves me feeling anxious tbh.
I am thinking of wearing a face mask and gloves. I know the opinions on the effectiveness of face masks are divided but I think I would feel happier wearing one.
Would it give me more protection in a hospital setting than without?
Has anyone had a hospital appointment recently? What was it like/how was it handled?

i had an US last week at my local hospital - it went fine, they spaced the appointments out so the waiting area wasnt as busy as usual!

Had a scan at 38 weeks, all fine and went ahead as planned. All your antenatal care should be as normal unless you have symptoms.

No partners allowed in and wasn't able to video call him, but other than that it was all the same for me.

Thanks rocknrosie I’ve had loads of various scans and never normally give it a second thought but I just feel so anxious about going in a hospital atm.

I had a scan 2 weeks ago - waited in the waiting area as usual but they asked people to only sit on every third chair or something like that. Although this is a London hospital so no-one comes by car anyway. They’ll want you to take your gloves off when you go in if you wear them. There’s hand sanitiser everywhere anyway.
