So if a single parent or both parents can go back into work will their child/children be able to attend school ?

Maybe someone knows on here (have done some reading but still unsure)

I think if you are furloughed already, it will continue up until the scheme ends due to child commitments.

Unless you have children in reception, year 1 or year 6. To be honest I don't think they will be going back on the 1st June. R will go up unless the explicitly lay things out this week, as at the moment on other threads it appears some are seeing and hearing what they want too.

Have the rules of the furlough scheme changed? Because furlough was never for childcare - it was for people whose jobs could not be done at home, and who had no option to attend the workplace. If the employer wants employees in the workplace, then the furlough ends.

@Moondust100

PP's on other threads have made reference to it being a condition. I totally understand that it's not the MAIN reason for it. Apologies if this is wrong. 😕

No. The schools remain closed except for keyworker children.

Ds is at school a few days a week

He is hoping some of his friends will now go (he get a bit lonely there) I know not a big issue in the scheme of things but he has had a difficult few days so might cheer him up

Sorry OP I think I misread/misunderstood your post. I thought you were concerned about having to go back to work and what to do with kids 🤦‍♀️

No, unless they are children of keyworkers they won't be going.

No. Schools and nurseries are only open for the children of key workers
