We went online last night to look at holidays for later in the year thinking we wouldn't actually be able to get on the websites but they are all taking bookings for after May 14th when they plan to re open!?

Do they know something we don't or is it just wishful thinking on their behalf? Surely no one can do social distancing at a holiday park such as Haven or Center parcs 🧐

Wishful thinking I expect along with an attempt to keep cash flowing through the business. They can always give a refund if they have to.

Ours for 30th june has just been cancelled by British Airways, it did previously say on their website that travel was only suspended til 14th may so I'm guessing everyone else will be following suit now

They’re desperately trying to get cash in to fund the refunds they are having to pay out. Obviously technically speaking, lockdown ‘could’ end on 7th so there is nothing preventing them from selling holidays. But we all know they won’t be open and it’s a massive hassle getting cash back from holiday companies at the moment - I’m in the midst of 2 claims at the moment. Personally, I won’t be handing over any money to a travel company until things are fully back to normal.

Places like haven had set it to the 15th before lockdown was extended so I’m expecting to see them extend again before it’s actually required. Park dean however was set to the 1st May and only extended because they had too.

Sorry everyone I should have stated at the beginning I meant english holidays! I am guessing anything abroad will be of the cards till at least July/august if not longer!

We are looking at December won't be booking for a few months yet though... wait till everything has officially opened again to be safe 🤞🏻

If they are allowed to reopen, they won't want to have missed the chance to get the bookings in, particularly given how much they're having to give back as refunds. But I can't imagine they're getting many bookings. Even if someone didn't care about social distancing, booking for May when in all likelihood it will be cancelled would be very optimistic!
