How vulnerable am I?

I have a chronic heart condition. It is a leaky valve (moderate to severe apparently).

Does this count as heart disease? I have thought not, but dh is convinced I am extremely vulnerable and insists that I should be 'shielded'.

I also have secondary progressive MS and hypothyroidism if that makes a difference.

Thank you.

Well, you may not think if yourself as such, but your description sounds like you might be, however nether I nor anyone on here knows your complete medical history so wouldn't it be better to contact your GP. I called just about asthma and was worried I'd be time wasting, but they were very reassuring and they were also very helpful.

Have you had a NHS letter?

I am in the same position. I have a leaking heart valve. I've had no letter either and am a nurse. I contacted my GP who were no help. Made out I was stupid for ringing them and told me to check the website 🤷🏼‍♀️. I was concerned as I am carrying out direct patient care. It appears to depend where you live and who your GP is. I'm in wales, I think here appear to be coming from hospital clinics or the welsh assembly, although some people have had letters from their GP. My dad recieved his shielding letter today, my friends parent yesterday so appears they are still sending them out. Can you ring the clinic you're under?

Oh dear, Tiredmum, that sounds horrid; I hope you get some clarification, maybe we'll be lucky on this thread!

Meredint, I did ring my gp but only got an answerphone announcement outlining what one should do under various parameters, none of which apply to me.

The announcement said they were behind in sending out the letters (which were coming from NHS England anyway) and directed me to a "form on gov.uk" but I can't find one. If you know where this form is, could you link? It would be really helpful. Thanks.

elf666 (great name! Grin), thank you. That's exactly what I wanted. Thank goodness, it tells me I'm not in that category.
