Hello all,

My period was due on 28th June but it didn't start. I tested on the 10t of July and it was negative.

DH and I are trying to conceive for more than a year now. On 13th July I noticed some spotting and thought 'Oh! period is starting late' But that wasn't the case. It was just that one spot and stopped. Same thing happens everyday till now.

I start spotting around 5 pm and it stops by 8 pm. No pain or soreness or any other symptom! I spoke with my doctor but he isn't worried as I tested negative. I am to test again this weekend and I have an appointment on 24th to discuss this.

Have any of you experienced this? I had regular periods till we started to try. From then on I'd be two - three weeks late sometimes but the HPT was always negative, I'll have a crampy period and cycle will become normal for a month or so. And then it starts again. This time is different because of the spotting. I dont know whats happening and doctor isn't worried because I've never had a positive HPT and say its just my period adjusting.

Any advice on how to put forward my worries to the doctor is appreciated.

If you have been ttc for more than a year without success then you should be referred to a subfertility unit at the hospital.

Spotting between periods should be investigated further to ascertain the underlying cause. Sounds like your current doc does not have a clue. If your periods as well are irregular in nature then the chances are you are not ovulating regularly if at all.

Your system would not take so long to adjust in terms of periods. Seek a referral to a gynae, you will need to be persistant in order to get answers. Do not continue to be fobbed off by the GP.
