Hi Caz61, I am 36 and had my dd 8 months ago. I have had Crohn's since I was 23 and it took me 3.5 years to conceive (don't know if that was to do with Crohn's though)

I am on azathioprine (allergic to asacol, salazopyrine etc) and have been for 5 years. I stayed on it while I was pg. My Crohn's got worse in the first 3 months, then settled down for 4 months and flared up again at the end. I've been on a low dose of pred since Jan 2002, it's taking a while to come off it this time.

What meds are you on? I should add I have never had surgery and was in remission for 5 years (no pred) prior to getting pregnant. I believe that half the people who have Crohn's get worse during pg and half get better, I was just unlucky!

Hi Sobernow and SamboM - you have given me real hope - THANK YOU!! I am not on any meds now but have recently come off course of prednisolone. I also have an ileostomy but still have all my insides - ie nothing removed!! Am eating loads of superfoods and I think this is helping and as they are all natural there are no side effects!!
To add to it all - my DP works away a lot so it's all a bit hit and miss - but praying for a hit this time!!! .)

Did another test this morning- was going to wait 3 or 4 days but couldn't resist - anyway was still negative. If my Crohns is a bit active could this affect the test? I am having some cramps but still no period .. and tonight am feeling really hot - my face feels like it's on fire!!! Does anyone recognise this.... or have I gone from ttc to early menopause!!! Help I am so confused!!!!

No luck this month as came on Friday evening. Tests must have been correct and I suppose that I was looking for reasons for them to fail. Anyway, just hoping for next month!! Tummy not doing too bad - just trying to stay healthy and unstressed.
