should you ovulate the month after stopping taking?

I stopped taking the pill mid-late June and since day 8 have been doing ovulation tests - now day 17 and no positive test.

i have a history of not ovulating (had to take clomid for DS) and am wondering if it's me just not ovulating or whether its the pill?

I really don't want to take clomid again (and don't think my mood swings would be fair on DS) so hoping it the pill
