hello we're TTC#2 and i'm about 5 or 6 days late, did one pg test last week which was negative...
i'm not sure i feel particularly pregnant, bit crampy but nothing much...but i've got an urge to do another test, like NOW...even though it's middle of the day...
my DH reckons we shouldn't spend loads on tests (they do add up and I haven't bothered ordering the cheap ebay ones) and i get where he's coming from, we're feeling pretty laidback about it... but

if it's -ve would he notice if i had to buy another set of tests and
if it's a BFP will he ask me why i was doing a test in the middle of the day on my own anyway?!!
I realise none of this really matters but just wondering what people think - shall i test or not....
vote please

Have you got a pound shop near you where you could buy a cheap test?
If not and you feel the urge to test get a 2 pack, throw the box away, do a test if + then you have a spare one and when dh is with you do the other one but tell him you only bought a single pack, and if -ve then you dont have to tell him anything, but have a spare test for next time!! God does that make any sence!
Good luck!!

its buy one get one free on first response at boots at the mo - and you can pay with your boots card if you have points on it!

so you can 'buy' a 2 pack, get another free, hey presto, 4 pg tests for nowt.

I think there's no harm in testing! Just get cheap tesco/boots/wilkinsons ones.
I never used to test until i was 2 weeks late,so have only ever bought two tests and they were positive, so never wasted money testing early as it seemed pointless!

i've got a clearblue digital one left from the 2pack i bought last week but it does seem a waste...the cheaper ones were rubbish for me last time though, i did 5 negatives before clearblue said i was pregnant...
is it a waste to do it in the middle of the day? i got better results first one of the day?
thanks for all your messages guys, i know there are much more important issues warranting responses so thank you!

oh go and do it now.

go on, i'm bored and in a shitty mood and i know i'm not pg, you might be tho! that would cheer me up (and obviously this is all about me )

as long as you haven't weed for a while i ould think that 5 or 6 days late should be plenty for a test to work?

good luck whatever you decide!

Try Asda or Sainsbury's own brand. They can detect a positive result at 6 dpo and are the most sensitive ones you can get in the UK.

Test test test!

If you're 5 or 6 days late then it doesn't matter whether it's the first pee of the day - any test should be pick up a positive result by now...

Good luck! Will check in later to see the good news

hmmmm wellllllll......
DH was right to tell me to hold back - it's a negative but I'm sort of glad to have done it at least, means I can get on with the day and not keep thinking am I/aren't I...
I'll also be in boots tomorrow then for the Bogof offer! If he notices (he won't) I'll say DD got hold of it and it ended up in the loo (like most of the things she gets her paws on at the moment).
Hmmm. more BDing then - least it's cooler weather for it
Yours, philosophically enjoying her sex life,
xx

bad luck... you're right though, sometimes its helpful just to know rather than messing with your head.

i tested lots before i was due on (stupid) when i was pretty sure i wasn't pg (even stupider) at least they were bogoff and paid for with boots card (and i didn't tell dp!)
