Excited about ttc#3 - anyone else?

Doing a little happy dance right now because Dh and I have been having the #3 talk a lot lately and I think we might start trying.

We've been 'tempting fate' a lot lately, and I think its about to get more serious. I can't talk about it in RL as most of my friends and family will think we are nuts but I have to share somewhere or I think I'll explode!!!!!!!!

Anyone else going for #3, now or soon???????????????

hi we are trying for #3 aswell, have been for a while, we havent told anyone else yet as i cant bear the thought of being asked every month "any news yet". our older 2 are 5 and 6. my husband works away all week so we can only try on a saturday and then sunday morning if the kids lie in for a bit. good luck to both of you geocentric and renerusso x

Hi, congratulations. We have finally decided ttc #3 seriously now after a few half hearted attempts last year. Really excited. My ds's are 3 (nearly 4) and 7.

I am attempting ttc dc3 too, although just recovering from a mc (last month) so waiting for af before we start again. Have to be honest though, I am absolutely terrified but can't get away from the desire to have another baby. Mine dc are 4 and 2.6.

Mine are 6 and 4 (almost 5)...

Nice to see there are a few of us nuts out there!

I couldn't stop smiling today - I'm just so excited, we've been talking about this on and off since my youngest was born.

Sorry you are having a rough time, Ilovebeingamummy. Wishing you the best of luck!

By the way, for those ttc or thinking of ttc, are you taking folic acid/vitamins? I was thinking I should maybe start taking something to boost those FA levels...

Geocentric - I take folic acid. early days of pregnancy are vital for development. So I try to behave as if I am pg from about CD10 onwards, including no alcohol. This is very boring after a few months TTC. Good luck and hope it happens quickly for you

Me to. There seem to be lots of people around ttc #1 or #2 but not many on #3. We have 2 ds's (3.8yrs and 16months) Alot of people in RL know we are keeping our minds open wrt #3 and keep saying 'do you think you will have another one then' and we keep saying we haven't decided yet as i don't want anyone to know we are trying yet.

I'm sure they will think we are mad. Maybe we are

I've been taking folic acid for a while now. I think. I think it's recomended you start taking it 3 months before you start.

Hi, We will be starting to try next week. And I am excited but also terrified.

Have 2 ds's (3.2 and 17 months). I also can't really talk to anyone about it in rl, I don't know anyone with 3 kids so I'm sure everyone would think we are a bit mad.

Thanks for reminding me about the folic acid must goout and get some

Saw this thread and it reminded me that 3 years ago next month we started ttc number three. She was two in april

Three is great - lots of luck to all of you especially Ilovebeingamummy

Oh, I want one! DS 4 and DD 7 mths. In an ideal world I would start ttc in about a year's time, but DH just laughs in my face and reaches for the johnnies...

Northernlurker please reassure me I am not mad going to 3. I am terrified but also sooooo broody.

Sorry to hear about your mc Ilovebeingamummy. I have just had my second (although not one after the other) and it was hard. Hope things go well for you this time.

Three is lovely, noisy and expensive but lovely! It feels like a gang now, a much more interesting dynamic than with two.

Thanks for the input, Northernlurker!! Nice to hear from someone who's been where we are now...

Also nice to see how many of us around ttc#3!

I actually told my mum today, sort of; she came to a thyroid appointment with me (we have the same dr and had consecutive apps)and when he gave me my prescription I had to ask about a possible pregnancy, so cat out of the bag, really. Couldn't very well ask her to leave the room

Hoping she'll be discreet.

Hi, we've also just started TTC no.3. Ours are similar age to ilovespinach's; DS1 is 3.2yrs & DS2 is 18months.
Bit terrified about doing it all again (the heavily preg & newborn stage I mean) but also very excited at the prospect of having another baby. This will def be our last one, should it happen.
Nice to hear of a number of other people also looking to have a 3rd! We have a few friends who will soon have 3 (in late stages of pregnancy) so interested to see how it goes with them!!

so pleased to have found this thread! Mine are 3.8 and 17 months - so v. similar to cloudydaze and ilovespinach (I also love spinach!!).

Worried about how I'll cope with three under 5 if it all goes to plan but am thinking that we just have to get through the difficult initial phase to then enjoy years and years of having three..

We're sort of half trying as think we're both a bit too terrified to really go for it so we'll see what happens

thanks for reassuring words northernlurker

so sorry to hear about your MCs ilovebeingamummy - let's hope things start going right for you from now on

hello, my ds are 3.3yrs and 18 months. I am reassured that I am not alone in wanting to go for dc3, i think everybody in RL will think i am mad with this sort of age gap.

Finally persuaded dh to go for dc3 but now he is quite enthusiastic about getting on with it and i am scared! Life is just about manageable and enjoyable after a difficult sleeper in ds2 and i've finally lost weight. i have had miserable pregnancies, no idea how i will cope looking after the ds. anyway, might take a while, and i'm only getting older...

good luck to you all!

Hello,

Best of luck to you all!

We are still deciding whether to go for a third or not! We did say we were then got scared, now I want to but my husband isn't so keen. I have 2 boys, one of nearly 5 and the other 2.4.

I really really want another baby but in my head I keep thinking of sensible reasons not to!

Hope it all goes well for you and be sure to post on here to let everyone know how it goes. Will probably still be deciding!!

Doctors, me too! I just tested today and got at BFP. I will also have 3 under 5, although ds will be 5 in april. I'm having a bit of a panic though as have been on antibiotics and didn't really mean to get pregnant this cycle. Also I have no idea on due date as had mc 1st May and this was supposed to be my first period and then we were going to go for it.

What's your due date? And huge congrats!!

Report
Doctorskidaddle · 13/06/2009 22:02

oh wow congratulations!! It is terrifying though, isn't it? My last period was 16th May and have worked out my DD as 20th Feb so i imagine yours will be fairly close to that although of course it's impossible to tell. Hopefully you will get an early scan because of your mc and then you'll know.

I totally did not mean/intend to get preg this cycle either. I qualify for full mat pay by about 10 days! Eeeek!!!

Hopefully we have started a trend here - anyone else??
