I have been TTC for since dec 06.I have had a miscarriage at 11 weeks, 15 months ago, but nothing since then. sad
Have had all tests and DH and I are fine, just one of those "unexplained" people. hmm

I'm feeling very frustrated and extremely stressed, which is not helping anything. So many people have recommended acupuncture, but want to go somewhere other people trust.
If anybody has a recommendation, I would be really grateful. grin

If you use accpuncture do fin dsomeone who is registered so you have a degree of protection. Below is the website details of the British Accupuncture Council:-

What exactly has been done to date for both of you in terms of tests?.

Some fertility tests do get missed out, it may be that you have not had all the tests done. Some people also get given the supposed diagnosis of "unexplained subfertility" simply because they have not been properly investigated.

I'll put up a list of tests that can be missed for you separately.

The most common tests that tend to be omitted are:-

Adequate x-rays of the uterus which may show abnormalities not otherwise seen at laparoscopy.

Hysteroscopy - telescope inspection of the inside of the uterus which may occasionally show abnormalities not seen otherwise

Repeated sperm counts over several weeks and months to make sure there is no subtle abnormality

Testing the sperm in special media such as swim up testsvelocity testing. However, when they are done, they often uncover a hidden cause for the supposed unexplained problem

Thorough hormone tests to detect abnormalities of male hormone or early falls in progesterone

Scanning of the ovaries to see if follicles really are developing and there are no sign of polycystic ovaries.

If you as a couple have not had all of the above tests done within the last 6 months I'd start asking awkward questions.

goingstircrazygirl, sorry to hear about your m/c and that you've been struggling to conceive since. I had a m/c last June and have just become pregnant again - very early days so am very nervous.

But I just wanted to let you know I've started having acupuncture. I was pregnant when I had my first session although I didn't know it! But it is meant to be good for fertility, and also for anxiety/stress, which is why I'm carrying on with it and also it's meant to be helpful through pregnancy.

I would second ATM's advice in making sure you use someone registered with the BAC.

After my last session, I felt really calm for a week or so, so I'm won over to it already!

Good luck with it and with TTC! xx
