cycles shorter after miscarriage

I'd appreciate some help with this.

I have always had really regular 28/29 day cycles and guessed from signs/conceiving other pregnancies (never charted or opk'd before) that I ov'd around CD12-CD14.

I have fallen pregnant 3 times - have 2 dds and had one mmc three months ago. Simce the miscarriage my cycles have been 28 then 27 now 26 days. On the last cycle I charted and had a temp rise on CD17 - fertility friend had me ov'ing on CD16 - much later than I imagined - giving me a LP this cycle of only 10 days.

So to cut to the chase

  1. Is it normal for cycles to 'shorten'like this after a miscarriage

  1. Whats happened to my LP. How can it be so short? Surely in order to have conceived so readily before it must have been longer. Is there anything I can do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi HairyToe,

I hope someone comes back to answer you...would also be interested n he answer.

I too had a m/c 4/5 months ago. Used to have a 31/33 day cycle now 27/28. LP has also dropped from 16 to 13. I don't know if this is normal or not but also beginning to get worried.

all the best with ttc dc3 and sorry you had a m/c. Baby dust your way...

Me too.

They were always 28-29 days regular as clock work.

The last two were 27 and 25. Never had one in 25 days!

After my mc the first proper cycle (as in I had my next period and this was the following cycle) had short LP of 11 days. Every cycle since has had a LP of 14. So mine did shorten yes but only short term.

I'm sorry I know it isn't much help when you are still having short LP's but a mc I think does mess things up and maybe it is just taking a while for your body to re-adjust?

There are things you can do to lengthen an LP but I don't really know what. Is it vitamin B6? Hopefully someone will give you the answer.
