Hi,

Hope you can help! Currently on month 4 of TTC after I sadly lost my wee boy at 18 weeks in July.

Been quite disheartened this month after a very short 24 day cycle so decided to try OPKs this cycle. I started on CD8 and this CD11. Most have been either blank or fainter than the control, however this is today’s. The only thing that makes me second guess is the control line itself is a bit lighter than the control lines on previous tests so I wondered if maybe it wasn’t working? It’s the test at the bottom for reference.

Can anyone chime in and say if they think this might to be positive or not? Thank you!

Please help, is this a positive OPK?

Hi @KerryW87 so sorry to hear about your loss, it must be so difficult for you.

That looks positive to me..,possibly slightly lighter Than the control but when it gets that dark it’s very high and if not the absolute peak, pretty close to and It should happen soon.

Using an app is very useful to show you the percentage of lh and if it’s low, high or peak. You can also record your pattern so you can compare with previous months. I use Premom, there ya also femometer.

Best of luck in your TTC journey, it is tough going at times but you will get there!

@Bouncytree Thank you so much ❤️ I think I thought that getting over the grief would be linear and that I’d feel better as more time passed, but it’s been very up and down. We got to spend some time with our wee boy which was really special, and just trying my best to keep busy and try and get on as best as I can.

Ahh thank you! I did wonder if it was just a total negative if it was just slightly lighter, so it’s reassuring to think it’s maybe time or very nearly time! I’ll check out that app too. Thank you :)

@KerryW87 I’ve had a couple of early miscarriages before 12 weeks and I Havnt found it linear either. I think especially when trying again, all kinds of things can surface at different points. I find myself getting stressed over opks and ovulation and all kinds of things that never bothered me before.

Yes you are definitely on the way to peak, I would say possibly in a few hours...Definitely DTD and keep testing To see when the peak has gone...for some it can last for a few days, Others hours...and you want to find the end of the peak as that’s when you’ve ovulated. Hope that makes sense!

@Bouncytree Aw I’m so sorry to hear that :( You’re right, I initially wanted to be “relaxed” about TTC but after we lost our wee boy I’m taking every vitamin/old wives tale going and absolutely the opposite of relaxed 🙈 Family all have good intentions but when they say “don’t stress or add pressure/just relax” it does make me laugh because it definitely does not feel like I have a choice in how stressed I am! Are you still TTC at the moment too?

Thank you so much, that’s so helpful! So if I keep testing and the lines become more faint it would suggest I’ve already ovulated? Angry at myself earlier because we DTD and I tried using a Mooncup for the first time because I read it helped but then panicked that I couldn’t get it out, yanked the thing out and EVERYTHING came out with it (TMI sorry) 😂😫 Hey ho, fingers crossed anyway!

@KerryW87 lol yes we get ourselves into these situations don’t we 🤣🤣🤣. I have always thought if I turn myself upside down after DTD gravity would help ‘Push’ the sperm up there. Read recently it dies by make any difference, Seemingly if they are good quality sperm they till be good swimmers. Then I started worrying I was pushing duds up there 🤦‍♀️🤣

Yes it’s hard not to stress snd I think feel like we are doing something to help things along. The reality is, that it’s just patience and persistence. I try to tell myself to think of the long game. I definitely think that once you’ve had a miscarriage you feel you need to the next PG to happen quickly to help you get over it. It adds bother stress level I think and is a lot of pressure to deal with. I’m trying to separate the two, but is not easy.

Yes we are TTC. Last month was first cycle to try after the 2nd loss. Feeling impatient At the moment.....like would it just happen already! 🤦‍♀️🤣

@Bouncytree I swear TTC turns us all into unhinged maniacs 😂😂🙈

You’re so right, in the end it’ll work when it works but it’s just impossible to let go and not try every trick in the book to help it!

Oh I have everything crossed for you ❤️🤞🤞 I hope this is your month! xx

Did you find your peak?
