Hi, just wondering if anyone out there can shed some light or their own personal story.

I've had 3 MMCs in the space of 15 months.

After trying my hardest to be seen on the NHS I went private. Had scans, bloods, AMH etc and all came back fine apart from my thyroid. My fertility consultant has placed me on 25mg of levothyroxine to get my function down from 3.7 to below 2.5.

My periods have been so regular you could bet on it. However after 2 days of taking this I came on my period 3 days early, at only 10dpo which has thrown me a bit. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any positive experiences after being placed on levothyroxine. And did it change your cycle.

Hey, so I can only report on my cycle changes but not on conception as I'm currently on cycle 1 of TTC but a few years ago I was tested for thyroid function when I was super fatigued all the time, it came back that I was borderline underactive and got started on 50mcg of levothyroxine and then bumped up to 75mcg a few months after. Prior to this my periods had always been regular as clockwork and then they started getting irregular and I would have more side effects and "symptoms" than I started with.

Probably not advisably, I decided to stop taking levo in April (without consulting the Dr first), when I got put on furlough so if I did have bad withdrawal or bad days I didn't have to worry about work. Since I've been off it I feel better than I did on it and my periods started regulating again. They're not completely back to normal but now me and my OH are trying for no1 I'm glad I stopped them as I probably wouldn't have a clue when I ovulate or if it would have affected my chances to conceive.

Obviously this is my own experience, you will likely find it benefits you, especially if it's been advised by a private professional. My Dr didn't seem to have a clue and told me all these wonderful things that were supposed to happen when I started it, only to have all the complete opposite things happen 🙄.

Good luck with your journey, sending all the positive vibes and baby dust x

I was found to be under active whilst pregnant with dd and put on levothyroxine. I came off it after she was born.
Ttc no.2 and periods were a bit crazy but I put it down to coming off pill. I did take agnus castus too to regulate hormones which definitely worked. Had routine blood test to check thyroid and got results to say underactive again and that at those levels I wouldnt conceive. Found out pregnant the next day. Straight back on levothyroxine and baby was closely monitored as underactive can cause issues with foetus so please make sure to stay on it.
My mum has miscarriages and eventually was told underactive thyroid and this can cause them. So try to get thyroid to right levels, look at agnus castus, try conceive plus etc and good luck!!

I take 100mg and have done so during my two pregnancies. Worth noting that low thyroid levels can affect your milk supply once baby is born. It takes time for your body to build up the levels

I had CPs. Turns out TSH was 4! Started levo 50mg, my cycle (previously like clockwork) went a bit odd for 12 weeks. Ovulating early. They had said levo can take 12 weeks to work. Concieved immediately after that.

I also feel like a new person! TSH closer to 1 now.

Thank you everyone. I'm only on 25mg for a month then back to have a blood test in 3 weeks to see my levels.

I'm thinking of buying some ovulation tests to see when I'm ovulating especially now my cycle has completely changed. I really hope being on levo helps me carry and not miscarry and would be lovely to catch sooner rather than later 🤞.

@Piixxiiee I've just ordered some agnus castus so will give that a try. I always thought being super regular was a good sign I was holding onto. But now that's changed. It worried me

Hi @Lov3my2, I hope you don’t mind me asking. How did you get on?
I’ve this month started on Levothyroxine due to under active thyroid. Before now we have been ttc for a year with no luck. I’m waiting to ovulate at the moment and not sure how/if the medication will impact my cycle. Find myself spending a lot of time looking at other people’s experience which is silly really, but can’t help myself!
