BFN on FRER 12DPO and feeling fed up!

I’m new to this site so hope I’m doing this right..
OH and I have been trying for a baby since April, and this month I really felt like it had worked. I’m 26, have regularish 26-28 day cycles, and no known fertility issues. I got a strong positive OPK test on CD11 which was 5th August, as well as EWCM on the days leading up to and including this. Didn’t track BBT.

Had what I thought was implantation bleeding on morning of CD18 which was 6DPO, and have felt nauseous, fatigued and headachy since then, as well as having very sore veiny boobs, insomnia and vivid dreams - all new symptoms for me.

Tested this morning which is 12DPO/CD24 hoping for BPF and now feeling very deflated after getting BFN. Also had some spotting and cramps last night and this morning - feel like this is a bad sign as I have cervical erosion and do get some spotting before my period. AF is due somewhere between Thursday and Saturday for me. Should I just be accepting it’s over for this month and preparing myself for next month, or is there still a chance?

Hugs. It's not over till AF arrives. What test did you use? You are still only 12dpo so there's still hope.

I'm 29 months into TTC now so I real use how crap it feels to get a bfn at this stage.

Thanks @Meme69 - I used a FRER so thinking that I'm out this month, really disappointing. Had lots of cramping and spotting today, so think my body is just playing tricks on me which is really disheartening.

Sorry to hear you've been trying for so long Sad I feel bad complaining after only 5 months. Will this be your first?

No, I've got much older children but I wanted one last try before the menopause... I think I may have left it too late.

Hugs. Complain all you want, it's a miserable thing to go through, you are allowed to moan!!

@Meme69 don't count yourself out just yet, my mum conceived a surprise sibling for me at 42! So you never know Smile Fingers crossed for you!

AF came today for me so it's not my month this month. First 25 day cycle I've ever had, must be something about TTC that messes with your cycles!

I know that feeling @MF24. Would really recommend tracking BBT going forward, in case your OPKs are rogue. I had 3 peak results over the course of a week. Finally ovulated 48 days after my last peak (felt a pain and confirmed with my temperature the following days). Previous month I'd stopped testing after my first positive so assume I missed my actual peak!

Sorry assumed I missed my actual peak because my LP was then 20 days long!

Thanks @RMarieClaire - I had been tracking my CM and I tested for a few days after my peak and my LH stayed down, but I think BBT will definitely help because my main concern is I might not be ovulating. I read that an LH surge doesn't confirm ovulation, only BBT can do that, so I'll definitely be doing this next month!
