Stupidly disappointed

Hi all, I know I'm being ridiculous but I can't help but be disappointed. This is my first month TTC and I am in the tww but I have tested three times already 6dpo 8dpo and then today 10dpo all completely negative. I have been having really weird twinges and pulling and almost pinching feeling not necessarily hurting but very uncomfortable and very emotional. But I bet I was just symptom spotting as we only dtd twice around my fertile window (using Flo app only). So I know it's my only first month trying and I didn't use OPK and I know it's going to take longer but I'm just disappointed. And I know it's stupid to feel that way and I know it's a long road ahead but I can't help it

Hi @xxhetty

You're not being stupidly disappointed. My DH and I have been trying for about 3 months (this is our 2nd month using OPKs) and, as much as I try to tell myself and DH that I won't get my hopes up too high, that feeling of disappointment when I see a BFN or when AF arrives is just horrible!
Hang in there, it's still early days. I'm still working now and have a few things going on other than TTC, so what I would suggest is not putting all your energy into TTC. Have things to distract yourself - focus on a hobby (old or new). Also probably best to wait until AF is due before testing. 6dpo is very early to be testing and will cause undue stress/upset.

Best of luck and baby dust to you :)

I don't think you're being stupidly disappointed either. Just cause we know the facts doesn't make it any less disappointing when we see a BFN.

I agree with @KeepSmiling89 - Try to have something or things to focus on that aren't related to TTC but that do make you happy.

Wishing you luck for this cycle @xxhetty

And wishing you luck also @KeepSmiling89

Thankyou @KeepSmiling89 and @Curiosity101. I definitely need to keep my mind off everything I bought the Clear blue tests on amazon and they aren't supposed to be delivered until just before AF is due in august so I won't have the temptation next month!

I'm starting to get AF cramps now so I'm pretty certiain I'm out this month but hey ho

It isn't stupid, it is very disappointing and disheartening as when you decide you want a baby, it's all consuming!

In my experience, my advice would be just to enjoy the next few months and not take tracking or anything too seriously as it can become very stressful. It took me 8 months to conceive twice (first ended in a mmc) and I got totally overwhelmed and stressed.

@xxhetty you're not being stupid at all. AF just came for me after cycle 1 of TTC and I was GUTTED!

What I've learnt is you can't rely on flo so I've ordered OPKs and I've also ordered some fertility supplements.. just to boost in any way possible!

My main goal is to make sure sex doesn't become forced and awkward! Still needs to be fun.

Thankyou for all your support I took another test this morning and it's positive!!!! Still a faint line so I will see how it progresses!

I promised myself I would take this calmly and not go crazy with TTC but it's like a rabbit hole it's so hard not to!

Stupidly disappointed
