Hi!

I just thought I'd ask as I feel like I've tried every trick in the book and it's not happening! I need TTC tips! I've tried menstrual cups, pre-seed, Conceive+, putting my legs up in the air, not peeing after BD, diets, fertility supplements, I've tried acupuncture, eating pineapple core, I tried 'relaxing', I've tried sperm meets the egg! I'm using Ovulation test strips and I feel like I'm running out of options!! Literally any tips, tricks, information or anything would be really appreciated!! Currently in my TWW but I have no hope for this cycle at all! Please help!! ConfusedConfusedConfused

Sorry I’ve no tips I’m the exact same at this stage I’ll try anything lol, how long have you been trying? I’m in the tww of my 11th cycle. My doctor has referred me for initial fertility tests already did the 21 day bloods and all was fine.

@Timetotry123

Hi! Cycle 11! I feel like I'm being impatient now Shock I'm currently on cycle 5 we've been trying since November last year but I have extremely messed up Cycles, my last one was 35 days and this cycle I'm now on CD 61 I supposedly ovulated on the 11th of June according to my Clearblue Ovulation Advanced Test but I didn't get any ewcm until the 28th of June and I took some ovulation tests and got a really strong peak on the 2nd July, so now I'm in my second TWW of this cycle but it's not looking promising as I'm on 11DPO and I've got some Cramps :(

I'm glad your bloods all came back good and I really hope this is your cycle, got my fingers crossed for you! 🤞

Have you tried anything different than I have? Xx

No but I got some good advice yesterday that you just need to stop trying so hard and relax more which I would love to do but I’m a bit ocd in general so relaxing and not planning doesn’t sit well with me lol but I am going to give it a try.

@Timetotry123

Honestly I think I've been told to relax and de-stress so many times and honestly I don't think it works at all I've tried it and I've been on holiday to try and relax and I've done yoga and stuff and honestly it just takes over me and I can't do it

@Timetotry123
But if it works for you then I think that's good! It's always different for everyone I suppose Smile

How long did you try SMEP for? Unless there are underlying fertility issues then my best advice is always to relax and aim to DTD every other day of your cycle. Alternatively if people find comfort/relaxation in doing OPKs then I'd recommend the SMEP. However even the SMEP isn't a silver bullet, like they say, even if you time DTD perfectly it's something like a 25% chance of falling pregnant.

I’ve tried SMEP a couple of times and this month too, I did the every other day then 3 days in a row miss a day then give it one last go... after that do you go back to every other day?

The month I fell pregnant was the month after all the stress from work was over and done with. I had a month of self care (drinking fruit teas, doing more exercise, eating healthier, etc). We of course DTD often around ovulation too. I was looking into acupuncture, but I found out I was pregnant before booking the appt.

It took a year to conceive and we conceived the month I "relaxed" (sorry - I used it to hate this piece of advice too). I wasn't super relaxed, TTC was always on my mind, but it was the first month I wasn't stressed. It also helped putting my focus into being healthier, rather than obsessively googling symptoms and peeing on sticks.

I know it's easier said than done. Good luck!

@Timetotry123 - I suppose it's always worth trying! Good luck to you too! X

@Tbug - Sorry to hear about your MC and I hope this method works for you this cycle too! I did try this the first few months of us TTC but after a few months I started to get worried I wasn't ovulating so I started taking OPK's and multivitamins! Maybe I should give it another crack and see if it works! Thank you 😊

@Curiosity101 - We have tried it for my last 3 cycles and so far no luck! It's sad to know that it only has a 25% chance of working! I hope there's no underlying fertility issues! Drs won't test unless it's been a year! Thank you for your advice 😊

@Timetotry123 - I've basically been doing it that way but it can be hard sometimes because my cycles are really irregular so we DTD 2 days on 1 day off, I was recommended this way by my friend who also has irregular cycles and she said it worked for her so I thought I'd give it a go this cycle Smile

Yeah a year is quite normal for TTC as annoying as that statistic is! 🙈

@Mimi91

I feel like I am obsessed with ovulation tests at the moment I'm literally taking so many brands all at the same time I take 3 different ones in the morning just to see how they compare! I know this is so bad and I should chill a little bit with it but I feel like I shouldn't be stressed, I don't feel stressed, I'm not at work because I've been furloughed and so has my OH (we work for the same company) and we've had lots of time to relax, maybe I should just chill with the OPK's and just relax and improve my diet a little bit maybe! Next cycle I might give this a go! (But still regularly DTD) thank you for your advice 🥰x

@Tbug I know it feels like a lifetime! I feel like it'll be a year wasted if I don't get pregnant in the year I know that sounds bad but this is something I really want Sad

Yeah I remember reaching a year and giving up, rang the doctors to tell them I wasn't getting pregnant and fell pregnant before the appointment haha!! You'll get there 🥰

Also think that's it's good to try not to think about it too much because every month is so gutting!

@Tbug
Honestly both of my sisters in law are pregnant and my best friend is pregnant too and as bad as it sounds it's so gutting to be around them and not being able to join in with the pregnancy convo because I'm not! I really wish I could go to the DRS Soon but I know they'll turn me away! I guess all I can do is try and forget about it, I haven't taken any tests or anything for the last couple of days apart from a pregnancy test that said negative today (12DPO) so I think I'm out for this month anyways! Gutted but it is what is I suppose, I'll just have to try and forget about it all xx
