Coming off depo - constant spotting?

Deeply regretting a panic decision to have depo at the beginning of lockdown after coil disaster - spotted more or less constantly since I had it in March, a week off here and there but light bleeding most days. The jab ran out a couple of weeks ago, still spotting daily. Anyone had similar and if so how long until it stopped?? We’ve rethought our life quite significantly over lockdown and want to TTC but I realise now it could take 1-2 years and I’m gutted - wasn’t advised of this at all, think they assumed I wouldn’t be wanting more kids at my age.

For full info I have PCOS and never had regular cycles anyway. It took me 18 months, progesterone to kickstart a cycle and clomid to conceive my first DC after coming off the implant so dread to think how long this could take. Is there anything the gp could give to help flush it out/restart cycles faster or is it really just a waiting game? I’m 39, so don’t have time to lose.

Hi I'm also in a similar situation, I've not really got much advice but didn't want to read and run. My depo ran out end of March and I'm still spotting now x

Thanks @bluesky189 for the response. It’s really tough having no idea when things might go back to normal isn’t it? Are you TTC as well? I’m so cross with myself for not asking about this at the time, was just in such a state about making sure I was covered through lockdown. And doubly cross that they didn’t clearly say fertility could be affected for potentially years.

I am, I also wasn't informed how long it can take for fertility to come back too! I completely regret having the shot it's all very stressful not knowing what's going on with my cycles!
