Hi guys, brand new to all this today but thought I would make this thread to see what other people's experiences have been. I had my Mirena Coil removed yesterday as me and my husband are now TTC. I was just curious how long it has taken other people who had the coil? And also if you have any tips because I'm not going to lie, there's a lot about this process that confuses me 🙈🙈 thank you in advance!

I conceived right away once my coil was out. Didn't have a single period. Then had another one put back in 6 weeks (I think) post partum. Could have been longer - it was 11 years ago so it's hazy! Good luck ttc

I'm in the same boat @EmmaAM Very new to this too - have been searching online - some of the info says pretty much straight away other articles I've read suggest a few months.

I'm 43 so in the older camp.. conceived easily in my 20's.

I've no idea when I'll be ovulating or even when my official period will be (still trying to get to grips with all the acronyms!)

Would love some real life experiences from others

6 long, irregular months. I'd never recommend a coil to anyone again. I got pregnant previously on the first month with 3DC.

@Billers76 yeah learning the acronyms has been one of the hardest parts! I have been reading a lot as well, I knew getting pregnant wasn't as easy as it looked but it's like a while different world where I have to learn about ovulation, the right times/wrong times to be trying, vitamins to take...my head is spinning! I never had regular periods before contraception (I've tried a few before settling on the coil) so I'm worried about how difficult it all might be to track.
