Been a while since I've seen a success story so thought I'd share mine even though its early days!
Was diagnosed with vaginismus last year after having had dealt with it for 5 years. (I'm 25). Used dilator therapy for the past 6-8 months.
Got married last August and we both wanted a child but were waiting for my dilator therapy to work. Eventually I managed the largest dilator in December and we had penetrative sex once in Dec. Since then we definitely decided to start ttc. So started with home insemination which we did Jan to March. Didn't fall pregnant but think was just me and not the method as home insem is quite successful for others.
In April I finally felt comfortable with penetrative sex and we ended up doing the deed daily till my period which came a little early even making me think it was implantation. Kept dtd after my April period and on 14th of May got a positive pregnancy test!!
Did another digital test 2 days ago and I am 4 - 5 weeks pregnant. For the first time ever.
Vaginismus is a horrible condition and you end up feeling like you're usless, broken, will never have sex and on top of that if you want to start ttc which is a hard enough journey on its on, you can end up feeling depressed. Dilators did work for me to ease the vaginal muscles but the anxiety still remained. I used diazpepam (5mg) daily for 3/4 days and then attempted sex and it broke the vaginismus cycle. Haven't taken the diazepam since and having comfortable sex but only in certain positions.
If anyone has any questions please ask, please also keep your fingers crossed my pregnancy is successful ❤️
