Home kit- really faint line but on coil

Hello all,

Um so my periods late by 6 days which is unusual as am on the three year jaydess coil and usually on the dot regular. It was implanted in November.

So I feel abit pregnant-y. Boobs sore, keep getting pains in womb when I sneeze (what happened in last pregnancy). I have a 20 month old already.

Anyway. This obviously isn't planned or anything- I didn't think I could get pregnant on the bloody coil?!
I took a cheap Tesco home pregnancy test about an hour ago and there is a faint faint line. I've had a ton of water, just done another one and no line.

I don't know what to do really. Should I buy more tests? (Bloody hell, they're not essential so NO I guess?!) it's dangerous tho right to be pregnant and have the coil.

I don't know what to do. Has anyone experienced this before? I literally am not sure if I'm pregnant or not and it's driving me mad!

I've added a photo- can anyone else see the first line? Don't know if I'm panicking myself over nothing.

It does look like somethings there, but not conclusive. No contraception is 100% so is possible to get pregnant with a coil in, though doesn’t happen often. If you are you’ll need the coil removed quickly so it doesn’t cause problems, and pregnancy tests certainly are essential. You should be able to get First Response tests on amazon prime if you want to order some?

I’d call the doctor ASAP based on the first test. It’s important because you’re at a much higher risk of the pregnancy being ectopic.

Yep I see a line

Drinking lots will make you pee very dilute urine so you won't build up levels of hormones to test

Contact your doctor by phone

Hey @garden6789,

Out of interest, how long did you leave it until you read the first test? Just I got an almost identical line when I tested at the weekend and then got a negative the next day and I think the first test was an evap line as it had been more than 10 mins.

If it came up straight away then definitely a good idea to do another early response test but if it was after a while then maybe it was an evap line? X

Thanks for your replies!

Yes the faint line came up straight away. Trying not to panic but omg.

I've asked my hb to get some more tests on way home from work tonight (he's a key worker)...
Oh jeez!

Get a first response and do it when you wake up. If you are pregnant, you'll need a scan to ensure it's not ectopic Thanks

Those Sainsburys tests are notorious for blue coloured evaps. Get a First Response.

Sorry, they look exactly like the Sainsburys tests but just read you got them from Tescos. I would be nipping out for a FR immediately. It is essential. If you have a line like that on the Tescos one you'd have a definitive answer from a First Response.

Try to hold your pee until the next test x
