OPK - when to test?

I’ve been using OPKs (cheapies) for a bit now with varied results. The thing I want to ask is IYO when is the best time to test.

It says the surge usually happens between 2 and 8pm. Ive seen recommendations to test at 2pm/4pm/6pm/230pm or a mixture of the both. I seem to get faint lines around 2pm but when I’ve tried dual testing in the same day I get nothing on the 2nd one

What am I missing?

I do one around 10:30am (my break at work) then one when I get in around 6pm. I had a strong positive one at 10:30 this month then much lighter at 6 & v.faint the next day. From what I've read LH surges can last just a few hrs so that's why some say to test twice a day or you'll miss it x

I've always done two a day and had consistent results! I've set an alarm on my phone for everyday, I test at 10am and at 5pm Smile

thanks @mumof1hants

I’m currently testing at 2pm and getting a result and then at 6pm and getting nothing consistently. I’ve seen different people saying they test at different times - maybe I should switch to 10 and 2pm and see if that makes a difference 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s really helpful both of you, I think I should definitely look at around the 10am mark now. I’ve never seen anyone do it as early as that and the instructions recommend 10-8pm. It’s working for you guys so I’ll give it a go.

I test in the morning (pointless) and again around 3-4pm and sometimes a bit later.

I think i am gonna ovulate soon day or two away!

Yeah I think the later it is the worse the results are. I’ll stick with a 2pm for consistency and try going for an earlier one too

I know they say don’t test with fmu as doesn’t work- but that’s always when I get the strongest line Grin is that a false reading ? Or are you meant to have no line in the morning?

I’ve wondered that too. The only time I’ve ever had a positive was with fmu. I’ve tested at all times of the day too.

Yeah apparently FMU skews the results

I used to not test with fmu but I used to used the clear blue digital ones and they use fmu so when I got a positive on them I did an ic just to check and it was positive. After that I did ic with fmu and they seemed pretty accurate

Yeah that’s true maybe I should just switch to CB and be done with all this faffing
