A question for charters: high bbt after period?

A question for charters: usually my bbt drops the day before my period, or on the day of my period. This time, it's stayed up at pre-period levels for a whole week...

I know it's not due to high progesterone a) because I got my period and b) because I had a blood test on day 2 of cycle which showed low progesterone and low estrogen (as expected at that stage). What else could it be? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm confused! I've charted for 2 years and this has never happened...

(It was definitely a period, and I'm definitely not pregnant!)

Have any other factors changed? New duvet, going to bed at a different time, more alcohol this week?! Just thinking...!

Thanks hcopp. I’ve attached last cycle and this cycle. Nothing I’ve been doing consistently has changed.
Drinking does cause a spike but I only drank once this week & only one glass.
I have picked up a cold today which might explain today’s spike but I was only exposed to it on Friday so doesn’t explain why temps never dropped on Sun/Mon last week...

I had this this month. I thought it weird too. Currently 9dpo so ill let you know. Had bloods done on cd3 which were fine though.

Oh that’s interesting. Were you unwell at all at the start of the cycle?
Good to see it went back down quite quickly and you still ovulated that month.

I wasn't ill or anything. I've never had that before either. Was very weird. Then again I've never had such a stable period as I had later on either.

That's really weird as I read this last week and then this week have had af but temp hasn't gone down. Really weird as normal af and BFN the day before I came on so definitely not pregnant. Has anyone else's gone back down yet?

If it stays up then do an HPT. I had this - temps were higher than my normal follicular phase but not quite as high as normal luteal phase- and it was an ectopic. I’d had a bleed (5 days, period-like) and a BFN before that so would not really otherwise have suspected pregnancy.

Mine too, I will try to attach this month and last months charts to show. It went down one day to last months coverline but then straight back up again. I have even tried a new thermometer to see if it was faulty but the other one was the same. 🤔

Just to update. I got a BFP this month, however it appears to have been a chemical and I just stagers bleeding today.

I don’t want to tempt fate but the last 2 days it seems to have gone back down below coverline (usually 36.4)...

I know this is an old thread but is anyone else experiencing the same?

My follicular temps this month are 0.5c higher than what they normally are pre ovulation and I'm not doing anything differently. My RHR is low though so they don't correlate.

I've attached my chart so far to show that my bbt is not dropping and also a previous chart where I had a perfect cycle (ended in chemical pregnancy)

I'm definitely not pregnant as already taken a test 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes! For the past two months my temp has stayed elevated until CD8 or CD9. (I say temp vs bbt because I use an AVA fertility bracelet). I’m older. So, it might be hormonal for me, but I had my hormone levels checked in November. They were pretty normal. I know these things can change quickly, though. It’s really frustrating, though. I am ovulating. I had a chemical last month (which is common for me despite using progesterone presumably due to lots of bad eggs at my age). I’m just praying for that one good one super soon.

I just wondered if anyone was still on this thread as after my MMC back in February I’m also having issues of BBT not dropping on the first day of period and it’s getting progressively worst each cycle not better which is worrying. As in the bleeding is starting 9/10 dpo and full flow and temp not dropping till 13/14 dpo.

This is currently happening to me. I, too, have been charting for two years and never experienced this. My temp did dip a little on Sunday but hasn't gone below my baseline and actually went up this morning. I'm on my CD2 and haven't changed anything. I dont know what this means. I tested before I got my period and BFN but it was also three days late which is not unusual for me. I have anywhere from a 30-32 day cycle. I'm just confused.

Guess it was just a wonky period 🤷‍♀️ we thought it was an ectopic for about a week because I was experiencing ovulatory pain on my right side only. But then it went away. It was a very odd cycle.

Commenting on this thread to ask if anyone had an understanding of what caused their temp to be elevated in the follicular phase and if it continued. I’m experiencing the same this month 😣
