Having to wait to TTC after MC...anyone else?, Any advice?

Just wondered if anyone else has been through the same frustration....

  • missed mc 2 1/2 weeks ago, found at nuchal scan, with ERPC after. Was just starting to feel a bit more positive as had stopped bleeding and so was hoping to TTC again imminently.

But went for hosp appointment and have been told that have to wait until middle of next cycle (have to have period first) as have to have blood test then as one that I have had before (thrombophilia screen as probable lupus) was abnormal. They say the abnormal test might just be because I was pregnant and so need to check again when all had had time to correct itself if going to.

Just feels like a kick in the teeth again, as means delaying TTC for I don't know how many weeks, but I expect quite a few. I know unlikely to conceive this cycle anyway, but would be good to feel like we at least have a chance. Have been told to use barrier contraception in meantime...which just feels wrong given that we are very keen to conceive!

Anyone else had to go through a similar frustration?

hi birdseed,

i mc in may, i was told i had to wait for first cycle to come which has been and gone now and still ttc. i did tell them that i would not be using anything as it took two yrs to conceive in the first place, which they said was fine but everyone is diffrent.

Keep ur chin up there are plenty of people who are in the same boat on this site and are alway willing to give advice, so please dont feel like ur on your own

i know its not what you want to hear but waiting a bit while medically speaking is really for dating, you do need time to grieve and your body to heal. its frustrating tho (i speak from experience) i didnt wait after my mcs and im sure it didnt help

Hi birdseed. I was told to wait 2 cycles which is also very frustrating. Mind you, I know I am not fit enough right now to conceive. I still feel weak from the whole ordeal. However I would like to try again after my next period which I am told should arrive within 6 weeks. M/c is so inconvenient as it takes up so much of the year (not just the loss of time whilst you were pg, but also the waiting to conceive after).
