How long does it take for you cycle to be normal after a missed miscarriage

Hi all, I was pregnant for the first time at 10 weeks until December when I found out I'd had a missed miscarriage right before my 12 week scan. Emotionally, I can even talk about it and won't even go there but physically my cycles are very wierd. I've had 3 periods since I had a D&C:
1 - 4 weeks after op, was normal and lasted 7 days.
2 - On time but very heavy for 3 days then just spotting for the rest
3 - I've been spotting very dark, no fresh blood for 8 days now. Very clumpy.

How long does it take to go back to normal again? We have been trying but I'm thinking my body isn't ready for it yet.

Any help would be great, I'm worried the D&C may have affected something?

Hannah xxx

Also - I don't think I ovulated last month, I tested most days and there was nothing. I did test at different times of the day though so I could have missed the window

I took 9.5 weeks to even get a period. But apart from a couple of days late in January then a couple of days early in February I was spot on this month.

My mmc was in October.

Similar situation as yourself, no heartbeat at scan.

It's very difficult. I've been coping but today I'm a mess at work. I would have been almost 35 weeks and had planned to be finishing up soon so having a wobble.

Life truly sucks and I'm so sorry for you ❤️

I had a mmc and erpc in December at 9 weeks.
Took me 7 weeks post erpc to get a period.
I've had another period since and neither were normal.

  1. Very heavy, lots of clots and spotting for a few days either side
  2. A lot of spotting/brown discharge for 2-3 days before then very heavy with clots for 2 days and normal I suppose for 3 days.

I also had a lot of cramps with both periods which I didn't really suffer from before.
I did ttc both times but no luck, like you I don't think my body is quite ready.
We will get there x

Thanks for the quick replies...Im glad to see I'm not the only one. It's awful I was a mess over Christmas the only thing that's kept me going is the thought of getting pregnant again but it's not happened yet. I was doing fine but a girl at work is 4 weeks in front of me and I was due in May so I can't help but think 'what if'. However whay does help is making plans that I wouldn't enjoy while pregnant. E.g. hen party abroad, holiday with the other half etc.

I'm sorry we've all been through this but we aren't alone and one day we will have our babies xxxxxx

Aww @hannah0611 that's awful you have to see someone in work.

I was due in April and friends who were due before me have started having theirs now.

I kept hoping that as long as I would be pregnant by the time my due date came I'd be fine but hasn't happened so far 😢

I was really hoping to be pregnant the next month haha...if I was told it would take this long I wouldn't have been able to cope. Time will heal and things happen for a reason...once my colleague leaves for maternity and I get past whay would have been my due date I think I'll be fine xxx
