Yesterday I got a BFP, not sure why I even bought a test- although we hadn't ruled out a 4th child we weren't trying, bad timing just now etc. Thing is I've had 2 mmc and 1 chemical in the last 3 years. Youngest DC is 1. Basically due to my age and previous disappointments I'm fully expecting to get my period any day... not sure what I'm expecting anyone to say I just needed to tell someone.

Hi OP, it's horrible being in that limbo isn't it? DH and I have increased chances of miscarriage so I know how you feel. Do you have a particular date it tends to happen or is it more waiting to see? I suppose on the plus side at least you should know by Christmas?

There is a good support thread for early pregnancy/TTC after multiple miscarriage or a general pregnancy after miscarriage thread if you'd like support of that type?

I spent all of my last pregnancy like that. It’s horrible. I got 2 healthy babies in the end though

It happened before both times at 6 weeks so I've not got long to wait thankfully. My last pregnancy (after the mmcs) was so scary- I suffer from anxiety anyway but it got really bad. I took medication through the pregnancy which I felt was necessary which I'm still on. I do want another baby but the thought of another anxiety ridden pregnancy terrifies me. I'm now nearly 40 so got other things to add to my list of worries. I know I'm jumping the gun here but just needed to vent!

Mine happen at 6 weeks as well. I see it a bit like you - that it's not too long and I just tend to consider myself not really pregnant until then, just potantially - so obviously don't drink etc but don't think about having a baby etc yet.

Can you plan some really distracting activities/projects/busy things over the next 2 weeks to tide you over?

I don't think of myself as pregnant at all but obviously I'll not drink any alcohol-it's just harder now that Christmas party season has started- I had to cancel one last night and I've literally got some sort of party on every week until Christmas! I'll need to think up some pretty good excuses!

Have you got any progesterone to take ?

I miscarried repeatedly at 4-7 weeks took progesterone and hey presto my DS is now 5! One Dr was adamant it did not work and that once pregnant your body naturally produces it. I was despairing as I had read so many stories where women had success with it then I saw another Dr who said 'yea you can try it if you want' and gave me the prescription. It could be coincidence but that pregnancy started off the same as the others so I really believe it worked.

@abigailthespiderinthehat
Please can you let me know what your doc says about the progesterone? I've just had one mc but soon as I'm preg again I want to give it the best chance. I'm 38 soon and this will be our first baby so really want to make sure if we are lucky enough to get preg again soon, it is successful and have read loads of good things about progesterone.
Wishing you so much luck with your pregnancy too. So sorry to hear about your mc x

Good luck both of you, I had it prescribed at the fertility dept at the local hospital, your local GP might be a bit clueless, mine was. But you may be able to buy it privately.

Taking progesterone works if your cause of miscarriage is low progesterone. I don't think it hurts even if the cause is unknown. But for me it wouldn't help as the cause of our miscarriages is chromosomal. If you or your husband have family history of similar miscarriages it could be the same.

Well 6 months later and here I am again- 6 weeks pregnant and been bleeding lightly since last week, got scan tomorrow morning but I'm not hopeful. Feeling pretty crap since if this doesn't work out then we've decided not to try again.
